Dinotica Worker and Farm Tier List

Leather and crops are a combat stat. Rank the dinosaurs you refuse to take into Dark Forest.

Worker Tier List

A worker tier list sounds less glamorous than a combat ranking and will save more runs. Hunting missions, watering, crafting, and dung duty are why the next chapter is affordable. If every high-star body is in the rift, the town starves. This page ranks settlement jobs and tells you which leftovers to keep.

S — income you can feel

Dedicated hunters. Early bases may only send one party, and that party is worth a combat run of leather. A species with hunt talent and no combat ego belongs here forever. Do not “just this once” drag them into Flame Rift.

Farm tenders who finish jobs. Pathing bugs exist; species that still complete watering and harvest after you widen corridors are S. If a dino wedges on every fence, drop it regardless of stars.

Crafters who stand at the bench. Workbenches are slow. A worker who stays parked beats a fighter you teleport home between rooms.

A — flexible leftovers

Combat kits with leftover stamina after you already have a rider and two AI. They can hunt on off-days. Reassign them with the Team Builder instead of hatching a sixth fighter.

High-star duplicates of a species you already ride. Merge first — How to Breed — then put the leftover adult on chores if the crib is still full.

B — seasonal and novelty labour

Fishing-adjacent helpers. The pond is real content as of 1.10, but it is a calm tap, not leather. Fine for evenings you will not rift.

Cosmetic-first adults. Outfits do not harvest. If you hatched something for a look, park it on a decorative plot and stop expecting GDP.

C — rift tourists

Anything you only keep because the Combat Tier List called it S. If it is in the party tonight, it is not a worker tonight. The failure mode is treating “can do both” as “must do both every hour.”

Species that generate more dung than crops. Sanitation buildings exist for a reason; a cute producer that paints the town is a net negative until you upgrade Buildings.

How to staff a 1.0 base

  1. One hunter on the available mission slot.
  2. One farmer on food plots.
  3. One body near the workbench you actually use.
  4. Everyone else either merging, sleeping, or waiting on a crib.
  5. Re-evaluate after each biome boss, because slot caps and tech tiers unlock then.

Farm and Base is the procedure manual. Getting Started still applies: decorations wait. System Requirements will not make workers faster; only buildings and assignments will.

Online co-op will not borrow a friend’s hunter. Staff your own town. If leather is the bottleneck, you do not need a new totem — you need this list and a hunting party that stays home while you read Dungeons and Bosses.

When a patch adds a labour-focused kit by name, it will earn a row here. Until then, rank the job you can watch complete, not the model sheet.

Seasonal workers are still workers. A dino you only hatched because a Halloween ghost decoration looked cute can water plots. That does not promote it to combat S-tier. Conversely, a Dark Forest hatchling with a terrifying special can still fail a hunt if you never built beds. Stars measure merge investment, not willingness to walk to the hunting post.

If you play mostly online, staff your town before you queue. Friends will not send leather through the boss door. If you play mostly solo, the worker list is how Endless Mode 200 stays fed. Re-read this page after each biome boss because slot caps change the ranking more than a new colour variant ever will.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the current 1.0 build.

Can combat dinos work at home?

Yes, but every hour in the rift is an hour they are not hunting. Keep at least one specialist at home.

Why is hunting ranked so high?

Early hunting is roughly a combat run of leather without the death risk. It unlocks more slots as the base levels.

Should I fire slow workers?

Check pathing and building placement first. Many 'lazy' dinos are stuck on geometry.

Do workers matter in Endless Mode?

More than ever. Two hundred rooms eat food. Staff the farm before you start a marathon.

Do seasonal dinos count as workers?

They can tend plots. They do not become combat S-tier because a holiday skin exists.
